Charlie Rose Interviews Oscar Contenders, and Talks, and Talks, and Talks...

When he sees fit to allow the subjects of his interviews to actually speak (he frequently seems to talk over them), Charlie Rose can conduct an interesting interview.

Below you will find several links to television interviews he conducted with folks who either won Oscars this year or who were, at the very least, nominated.

First up: director Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis discuss the film There Will Be Blood (which was loosely based on Upton Sinclair’s novel Oil!). After that, the Coen Brothers, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem discuss their adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s No Country for Old Men. Third: An old 2004 interview with actress Tilda Swinton. Last, but not least: an interview with Cate Blanchett discussing her roles in Elizabeth and I’m Not There.
